This is big news, and should be celebrated.
Many news outlets are reporting that Kurdish fighters have fought ISIS out of Kobane – the strategic Kurdish Syrian border town that has been the site of intense fighting over the past four months.
ISIS has lost more than 1,000 fighters in the battle for Kobane, and by driving them out, the Kurdish Pershmerga fighters have signaled a real strategic turn in the fight against the Islamic State.
Writes Arutz Sheva, an Israeli news outlet:
ISIS has been battling to capture Kobane since last September, and at one point seemed poised to overrun the Kurdish town. Now the tide has shifted in favor of the Kurds, backed by airstrikes from the US-led coalition.
This really is great news in the fight against ISIS!
